yes march madness effects the economy. in the article it is believed to cause a big financial loss. the loss is due to people at work on their phones and computers watching it instead of working.i think that march madness would also help the economy due to people buying snacks and stuff for games. also all the people that buy new sports shirts to represent there team. i agree with this article because all the people at work not doing what there are supposed to. i think ohio state is going to win.

the decrease in our financial loss is people playing on their electronics other then them doing there work on it.

March madness could effect the economy either way. It could increase production afterward because people are more friendly with each other or it could decrease production because workers may be more focused on the game.

I'm not a big b-ball fan but even I participate in March Madness. It's really fun to compete with my family and it kinda brings us together a little bit more than usual. We sit down and we watch some of the games together, we laugh (okay, we yell too) and we just have a great time. I think that if there are more people out there that do the same thing, then I believe that March Madness is defiantly good for the economy.

March Madness will effect the economy the same way Super Bowl Sunday does. Everyone wants to get together so they buy a lot of snacks and food which boosts the economy. The article believes it will hurt the economy because people are watching the game on their devices and not working.

Yes i agree March madness does impact the economy we are in a big financial loss. Instead of working people are watching the college games on laptops, iphones. But people are buying good for the game so thats helps a little bit. No i don't agree with the author people are making money going to the games.I don't know who is going to win.

I believe that March Madness Will Impact the Economy. The article believe that it will if the productivity is low. I really don't care for the whole March Madness Thing. I agree with the author because It will affect the economy because I don't think that many people care about it as much as they did in the past. I predict that kentucky will win the tournament.

This is a really interesting article. It actually happens to be a somewhat positive article instead of the other negative economy ones. I agree with this article in that watching March Madness does improve team building and interpersonal skills. And instead of looking at watching it in a negative way, you can look at it as improving the company and allowing everyone to team-up and talk about basketball is just a fun way of bettering those skills. I really like this article and I hope all companies read it and watch March Madness to promote better team-building skills!

I dont think march madness affects the economy I mean not a lot of people are basketball fans and the ones who are, are the ones who spend the money but then again it could be because in the article it says how its believed to cause a big financial loss.

March madness effects the economy. The article is believed to cause a big financial loss.I think that march madness would also help the economy because people bare goin to be buying stuff for games.

MArch Madness is actually good for the economy in my humble opinion. The prices intended for the athletic events hosted will raise the stakes of economic oppurtunity. Especially when the Elite 8 and Final 4 games are played...then the price will skyrocket and go even higher when the National Championship rolls around.

March Madness does impact the economy. the article believes that march madness causes the a decrease in production and the economy during the month of march. i do agree, i agree since most of the businesses need to block websites dealing with sports and several other factors, but if a business owner or manager gave reason or a reward for its employees work and to work they would give better productivity in the month of march during march madness. as for who i think will win is think ohio state.

matt woodward6 said...

Yes march madness help. it give people things to do and most people get jobs and buy more stuff for the basketball season

sloan.marie6 said...

i feel that march madness does effect the economy. People spend money to go to the games and money while they are there. Also people place bets on who will win and that can cause a major loss or gain.

tbarker3 said...

Of course March Madness effects the economy. Think of what people do: prepare. Snacks, team decorations, and at the same time work productivity goes down. It could really go one way or the other but to base your facts about an economic downward spiral due to a month of basketball on one year alone isn't even illogical. It's just stupid.

March Madness does effect the economy. It says that people in business are busy filling out the charts betting and also looking at there phones for the scores and etc. This would also help the economy because people will buy things for parties and etc. I think i agree with the article because the people aint doing there jobs. I think Ohio State is going to win.

Yes, March Madness effects the economy. In the article it believed that it will cause a big financial loss. The big loss is due to the people at work always on their phones checking up on the games and people betting on who will when each game. But i also think it helps the economy because people go out and buy drinks and snacks to watch the game with friends and family. I agree with this article because all the people at work not doing what they are supposed to. I want Ohio State to win! :)

March Madness effects the economy, from people being on the internet watching it. It helps the economy by people buying and selling merchandise. When someone doesnt do as their job description says and watches the games, it causes a down fall for everyone.

i think march madness is definetley good for the economy even though the article says it hurts the economy because of all the people not doing there work to watch the games. i know if everyone spends as much as my household does on food and stuff for each game there has to be a boost somehow.

- march madness is good for the people running it , but bad for the people spending the money. people miss work and it slows down production which affects everyone. as long as people are spending money on march madness , production of things is being stopped.

yeah, it's good for the economy I suppose, people are buying snacks and jerseys and all this crap just for basketball. It's a little rediculous I must admit, it's just a game, but I guess to each his own. If they wanna blow all their cash just cause a few sweaty dudes wanna throw a ball through some string, no skin off my nose.

Andre 5 said...

I think it would because everyone is watching the game and snack foods are alway at the game or easy to get a hold of when your watching the game so people are going to want the snacks because they're there and accessible so what ever the prrice is for snacks they will pay so I think it will affect the enco

I believe March Madness does effect our economy because yes, there are a lot of people involved and to be honest i think they should be. There's a lot of history in every game that is played. People are distracted by it, i know this myself because my moms even involved in March Madness at work. It effects our economy with both a negative and positive influence. I'm in the middle and am not too opinionated about march madness.

I do think that March Madness effects the economy. In my opinion, people waste there money betting on the games. you never know who will win and you could be putting up money that could be used on more important things in life. i do agree with the author of this article. & i don't really keep up with basketball so i don't know who will win. ( Mrs. Rowland says to put UK )

AngelaPursifull said...

I would say yes it does effect the economy. It positively effects the economy by people having extreme team support, buying gas to go to games, snacks, and team apparel. However i think it causes a lot of distractions for the average person by them participating in picking winner brackets, and even watching the game on their phone or other electronic rather than doing their work.

Warmoth said...

yes march madness does effect the economy cause people buy team stuff at games and they try to go to a lot of games. i think for the most part its all positive for the economy so i disagree with it saying its bad effects. The people that do use their electronics probably never get caught doing so to greatly effect their job.

March madness is a big tournament that i love watching my favorite team in which my team won. And it is good for the economy because a player might not do so great and that could motivate him to do better. so i agree march madness is good for the economy
