It makes sense that prices will rise. People want to make money and holidays are the best times to do so. I mean a 9.6% increase for a bottle of perfume does seam a bit absurd, but maybe it's an excuse to switch it up and try different holiday tactics this year so that you don't blow a hole in your wallet.

yea i will be celebrating this valentine's day. i will be spending some money but i think its not fair to raise prices of products just for a holiday. businesses are always trying to rip people off and make the prices go up.

The day of love is a very touchy subject, but that's understandable since love is a very touchy thing (ha ha). To some, it doesn't matter that their partner doesn't spend a lot of money on them at valentines day. They feel that a lot of money doesn't matter in a gift. But not everyone feels this way. Some people have to have the most expensive, extravagant gifts possible. Personally, I'm one of the people that don't spend a lot on V-Day. It would kind'a make me said if I had a girlfriend who would think that I didn't love her if I didn't spend a lot of money on her.

I do not celebrate Valentine's day that often, i will not be spending money this year on it. i feel that it is a good way for couples to show the affection that they have for one another and that it helps them know how much they care about and love each other.

i dont think buying something very expensive for valentines day is that important as to just being with that person you love and enjoying the day with him or her.

This is a holiday I celebrate when I have someone to celebrate it with. I don't think you should wait for valentines day just to show that special person that you really love them or care for them .

i think this is just a rip off paying more for even just the little holidays. people are just too crazy over money i bought a $7 dollar colon for my boyfriend when i could of bought it for $4 insted crazy people!

It makes sense that prices will rise. Everything in the world rises, sooner or later. A 9% increase for a candle lit dinner is a bit much, but you cant control how things change.

It makes sense that prices will rise. It has happened throughout history. A 9% increase on a candle lit dinner is a bit much, but you cannot control what changes. I will still spend the money for my girlfriend. I wont go out and buy the most exspensive thing ever. But you get my point.

Personally i will be celebrating valentines day this year, but i do not plan on spending a lot. I shouldn't have to spend a lot to confess my "affection" to another person. $95 for chocolate....$130 for roses....absurd. Its a nice gesture to show someone your thinking about them but it shouldn't take an extreme amount of money to do so. But business is business, people are willing to pay it so of course prices would rise annually.

I hate valentine day, its a waste of money in our pocket that some of us don't have. I think it sucks that they raise up prices on valentine day, just to make some extra money. Today is just a another day for me but for others is a special day to spend money and for businesses to get the money. I feel bad for those who are spending to much.

Valentines day is a holiday that I do Celebrate. I will be spending money but only on the people that really means something to me like my mom and my best friend. There isn't a specific cost on how much I will spend. I think that Valentines day is not a real holiday. Its just another specified day to show someone(s) how much you care about them.

Kayla Grewe3 said...

I don't think it's right to raise prices just because it's a holiday because i feel like the lower the prices are, the more people will buy those things and they higher the price the more they won't get sold because not everyone has the money to go out and buy something really expensive. But i don't think spending money is all that, people love gifts but i think it's more important to spend time with the person you love.

I will be celebrating Valentines and i will be buying things but i dont think it is fair for the companies to raise the prices on certain things just because it is a holiday and they know people are going to be buying things for there Valentine. They are just trying to get more money when holidays come around.

i do celebrate this holiday even if i don't have a significant other. i did spend money this valentines. i didn't spend anymore than $20 because it's not THAT important. i feel like no matter what the holiday is, prices are gonna go up on everything.

Valentine's day is a day of love. No matter how much things go up, if you love someone you will give them the world. It makes since for prices to go up on the most common things. They know that people enjoy receiving those things & are willing to pay for them.

If I Was The Business Person i Would absolutely raise The Price Up. I Mean People Are Always Going To Be Buying Eachother Gifts. And They're Not Going To Stop. So Why Not Make More money Off Of It?

People are willing to pay so much for valentines day because they want to show their loved ones that they care for them. Yes prices are a little outrageous but thats just the price people pay. if they had a problem with these prices they would buy gifts sooner before valentines day. I don't think it is wrong for companies to do this.

People spend so much money on valentines day that its ridiculous. to show someone how much you love them or care about them you should show it more in a way that means more to them. not spend so much money on something that isn't that special.

KierraH5 said...

I think valentines day is a great day of love and you should be happy with what you get from the one you love. It's the thought thay counts and doesnt matter how much it it cost as long as they get you something.

I think that people should be allowed to do what they want and please on Valentine's Day. This is a day where someone can show how much he or she loves or cares about someone else. We as a people shouldn't get in the way of other people's relationships. But I wouldn't know because I don't really care that much about Valentine's Day. It's just a regular day to me.

money doesn't matter. it's about showing that you love someone, you can't buy love. I mean if you love somebody, sure you're going to want to be nice and buy them things, but if you're EXPECTING someone to buy you something, then you've got it all wrong. people should just be thankful for their loved ones and worry about presents and such later, that's only a small portion of what this holiday is about, or at least to me.

I think it makes since that the prices go up due to an increass of demand on chocolate and stuffed animals

I celebrated valentines this year and it makes sense that the prices will go up but seriously, you dont have to spend alot of money to show someone you care for them. this is what i call a hallmark holiday though. Honestly, if your with someone you dont need one day to show them you care, you should do it all the time.

Valentines Day is the day where u celebrate the word "LOVE". and love is a strong word, you should say it and mean it. People want to show there love for someone buying those special things to give them and also spending time with that person. i don't think that they should raise the prices on things, because some people don't people have the money to buy all those special things . even if they wanted to so badly...cause they know it will make there love happy. I feel that Valentines is a good holiday but sometimes i think its pointless. Because it shouldnt be only one day where u show your love towards someone everyday your should make that person know that you will always be there and love them forever. No matter what.

Valentine's Day Is NOT About Money. It's About Spending Time With Your Loved One. If You Don't Get Them Anything, Their Presence Should Be The Gift. It's Not S Competition So There's No Need To Raise Prices Of Products.

Raising the prices for the holidays is a smart decision this year. I don't think it will work next year though. Some people might see these prices increasing and be more prepared next year and make home made goods, like a cupcake, letter.

i think valentines is a great day. i will be spending money not a lot but maybe around 20$. stores should not raise prices just because of this day. its worthless.

Tre Burress 6 said...

i think we should get over the problem of stores raising prices on holidays because they been doing this for a while now and there are sales at some stores on holidays where can we just choose not to go that store

I spent about 200 dollars on valentines day on my grandma, mom, and girlfriend. but its worth it to me because if it puts a smile on there face and makes them happy thats all that matters to me.

I don't think any prices should raise, some Valentines day stuff is already high. I celebrate it, I don't buy nothing big though. Valentines is mostly about spending time with your bf/gf not about spending a whole bunch of money, I can understand a bear and some candy or something.
