This article talks about houw percentages of goods have gone down. Its simple if gas is around $3.80 a gallon then people are not going to spend money on new cars and other stuff. They can barely afford to drive what they already have.
the reason why stores like macys or clothing store percentages are dropping is because gas is climbing every minute and people now dont have the time nor money to to shopping or anything bills are flying high, because money's hard to spend now . if your spending money now make sure its for the right things
I think the reason all he store prices are dropping is because everyone is paying for the expensive gas & they don't have enough money to pay for he gas & other things at the mall & thats why bussiness are not getting enough business to keep there business open.
No one can afford to drive let alone go on shopping sprees. Businesses are going out of business because people can't afford to buy their products. If gasoline decreases, maybe products sold in stores will decrease.

People are spending more and they may not have enough left for goods and services because our government is money hungry.
people are spending less and the percentages are going down because some of the stuff we have to have every day is going up in price so we dont have the extra money to spend on some of the other luxturies we want
I dont agree with everyone here. Everyone says that the prices are dropping because of gas prices but do you honestly believe that the people who run these department stores care how much the gas is? The prices are dropping because they know that they will sell more of the item than they would've before it dropped which in the end of it all will only get them more money. They don't care about the price of gas.
i think the prices are dropping in the known shopping stores because of people abusing their credit cards and its like a recession to everyone alot of people are losing jobs and cant get jobs as easily and causing the clothing stores to lose customers because people cant shop

Hmmm. Everyone blames gas prices and what not. That could be it or it may just be that the economy is not at its best. Plus you really cant complain about the sales in general we all love them. And things may turn out better with time time.

Not only is it effecting gas its also effecting the cost to insure your car, your house, and milk. i honestly can say that even can goods are going up.. we cant blame the gas going up. People in society use a lot and i mean a lot of gas more than what we produce. so yea gas prices are going to go up, we cant blame anyone or anything but ourselves for the prices of everything being outrageously high.
