Valentines day is usually the day most people (men, sometimes women lol) are expected to buy gifts for their loved ones. Either it is out of the goodness of their hearts or that added pressure of the love crazed holiday. Even though we have just climbed out of a recession people are still determined to purchase something special. Perhaps now spending more than ever.
I feel like buying things on valentines day is really a waste. I think many people should just go out on a date an get some roses are candy. But not to much cause is just a another day. If people spend money like they do on Valentines day i think it would affect our econmy i think it would actually help. And we wouldn't be on the ressicons as bad as we is.
Valentines day is suposed to be about love and showing it, not about who spends the most or who has the most expensive gift to give. i feel as if people today have been taking valentines day to the extreme, people just need to sit down and realize that they have everything that they need, somebody to love them, and valentines day is proof of that.
What I feel the key note in this is that no matter what day it is such as Valentines Day, you should still treat that significant other the same as you always do any other day because it doesn't matter the bigger the gift the more love an care you go get out of each other because that isn't the case here, what really matters is the love you share for one another an how you express it towards each other whether its on Valentines Day or any other day. Overall you should have a big heart more than anything. Valentines Day is just another day but you both should make the best out of it an enjoy each other's company as you would, so don't go out n thank its all about what matters on the outside an the materialistic things when was ultimately important is that you have each other an that should be a Valentines Day gift 2 individuals should cherish an appreciate to the fullest
Valentine's Day is for the women clearly. So I would have to disagree with EJ Junior3 when he says "sometimes the women are expected to buy the gifts". Logically the guys are suppose to buy the girls gifts. I also disagree with Frank F3 when he says "he thinks buying gifts is a waste of time". Actually I feel that buying gifts helps show how much you care and shows how much the girl is really worth. It also helps show that it was the thought that counted because if a girl receives nothing it shows you didn't even take the time out to think about her. Valentines Day is just a day where you and your other half have fun and make you realize how special you are to each other.
Valentine's Day is a a day to show affection for your loved ones. Buying things for your significant other is not really a must, but today it seems like it has to be. Personally I don't care if my boyfriend buys me something or not. I think just spending quality time with your loved one is better than any gift, because it is a time that you'll never forget.
Valentines Day is a holiday created by the federal government along with the Hallmark coorperation to gather funds needed to fight wars and other things we as Americans are brainwashed into supporting. I do not celebrate Valentines day for this reason, however i feel Valentines Day is a day to send with your lover, nothing else. No expenses are needed to show affection and you should only be pressured to buy things for your significant other if you feel pressure by coorparate America.
I think that valentines day is a day to spend whit the one you love not just giving a gift it has to have a meaning in valentines day the couple should give their full devotion in love kristalc3 said that she doesent agree whit two guys and shes rigth buying a precent isnot a waste of time but i dont agree whit valentines day is just the day for the girl i mean it should be for both im not expecting anithyng from my girl and she said shes going to get me something and im getting her something to that how people should think economy in the us boost a litle bit in valentines day because guy think that if they dont give a precent there not going to get laid and girls get mad if you dont give anithyng its stupid but true.......
Valentines Day spending has increased three times the original spending amount. The thought of someone spending almost two hundred dollar on a Valentines day gift sounds ridiculous to me. You don't have to buy an expensive gift to show your love for someone or wait until Valentines day to prove it. I think Valentines day is just another meaningless day Americans have made up as an excuse to buy or get things.
Valentine's Day to me, is such a waste. I think it's just a way for businesses to make more money. I hate that I feel obligated to buy something for my boyfriend, just because it's a made up holiday. Not that i wouldn't want to, its just who doesn't want to receive something nice, when everyone else is. I think spending time together is way better than buying chocolates on some random day.
To me buying things for your signifigant other on valentines day shows them appreciation and how much they mean to you. I mean true enough material things dont truly matter but overall it still is a great gesture. But you can never spend too much money on someone you really love and care about. But the best thing you can spend is time with your signifigant other
Valentines Day has become popular over the years. Years ago Valentines Day was that special but as of today that holiday has become big especially for younger couples. I do not think this holiday is really towards one gender but it is a day to show your lover how much you care and appreciate them. Even if you don't buy them anything. But people do seem to go out on Valentines Day and spend more money then you would expect and thats how small businesses that sells flowers cards and balloons make more money in todays economy.
valentines day is a day that you and your love should spend the day wuth each other. And that dont mean you have to go out an spend all kinds of money. You coul just go walkin to ah park an jus talk an hang out.But with todays economy people always have to go and spend money.
yeah i believe spending money is important for this occasion, but you don't have to go all out with a one hundred dollar dinner. simple stuff works just fine like a gift and spend the night with your love it really don't matter as ling as both of you are happy. its ridiculous how people think they have to go all out and spend everything they have on a nice dinner.
valentines day should not be all about the money & how much you spend on them . it should be about showing your significant other how much you care about them . you could make something corny , like a card , or write a love letter , maybe make a song about him / her . ( that is if your good at that kind of thing ) . its the thought that counts , right ? there is no reason people should be going out & spending 100$ plus on a made up holiday like valentines day .
valentines day i guess is a good holiday of the year when most people can show how much they really love each other, because say if you are having problems in your relationship when valentines day comes it can keep both people minds off of the bad relationship that they are in, i think that both the girl and boy should both buy gifts because it shows how much they care for each other, even if they are not expensive gifts they should give each other something or do something with each other.
valentines day is an important day for couples because its a day where u want to spend it with your loved one because you want to u shouldnt have to go out and spend all your money but its nice to but them roses or a stuffed animal some small nice things and just be a romantic from your heart not your wallet or purse show them they are that special someone love from the heart is the best present you could give on valentines day
I personally like Valentines Day. It's all about love, and everyone always seems so happy. Also if you have kids with someone you two might not get a lot of time with your love one; so Valentines Day gives you a even better reason to. Even tho i love this holiday i don't think you should have to spend so much on gifts or even feel that you have to buy gifts. People sometimes do go way over the top, but it's cute. (:
Well in my opinion Valentine's day should be spent with no one but your girl/guy and make them feel like nothing is more important to you than them....Money shouldn't have to be spent on your better half but, I do agree that sometimes with certain people their is a place in their minds that say they need tangible objects to feel loved or feel important but it shouldn't have to be something so expensive, a teddy bear should suffice...
I feel like valentines day should be more about spending time with your loved one, and not about how much you spend on them. Buying stuff for each other shouldn't show how much you care for them, but its also a cute thing to just do for the holiday.
i think valentines day is a day to show that someone u like or love. i think it dont matter how much u spend on them. it just matter how care n love u show from the heart that day.
i think valentines day should be more about spending time with your boo rather than worried about how much money your going to spend. i think its cute just to dinner and a movie not go out and spend hundreds of dollars just for one day.
Valentine's day is a reason for businesses to make a lot of money. I believe that you shouldn't have to spend money on someone to show them that you care about them.
For valintines day i think its normal for people to feel obligated to buy their loved ones something special to show their love for them, but you dont have to go all out. Just a simple dinner at home or at a restaurant is enough, or a bear. But even then you dont have to do or get them anything, spending time together should be enough.
I believe that it is good to spend some money on Valentine's Day. But how much people are spending is getting a little out of hand. Valentine's Day should be about the person you're spending it with. Not what gifts you got or where you went to dinner.
I think valentines day is completely over-rated, You shouldn't need a certain day to get your significant other something special or to do something nice for them. You should do that randomly through out the year.
I think it is just a day where you should recognize who your with and do something special with. If you say that this shouldn't be the only day you do something special for your girl, its like saying christmas shouldn't be the only day I should get presents. Its just a holiday to do something sweet, not something to go over the top with.
i think buying people stuff on valentines is going a little out of heir way. maybe a date too the movies or dinner would be fine with a couple roses but not going all out and spending alot of money. sometimes i think valentines day is pointless & can be stressfull for some people that dont have a date. plus to valentines day is about showing someone you love them, not about the money you spend on them.
I think Valentines Day is really about who you spend it with. Even though the gifts are nice, sweet, and most times expensive. Just spending time with friends or that "Special Someone" can be just as special.
Valentines day should be more about how you feel for someone than the gifts and the restuarants. Just because you spend lots of money doesnt mean you love someone more.
Valentine's Day is suppose to be about love! You can show it different ways. You don't have to go out and spend a lot of money, just show that person you care about them and really, truly love them. I wouldn't care if my boyfriend didn't buy me anything for Valentines Day just as long as he spent time with me and showed me how much he cares about me. I mean everyone loves getting presents but it's nothing compared to the emotion and love couples share on Valentines Day.
Valentines day is suposed to be about love and showing it, not about who spends the most or who has the most expensive gift to give. i feel as if people today have been taking valentines day to the extreme, people just need to sit down and realize that they have everything that they need, somebody to love them, and valentines day is proof of that. People dont also realize that gifts dont mean anything because they will recieve another one the next year, and the real gift is seeing if the person you love is with you the next year=]
I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD JUST TAKE THEIR LOVED ONE OUT TO A NICE DINNER INSTEAD OF SPENDING 125 DOLLARS+ ON VALENTINES DAY... I JUST DO NOT SEE WHY YOU NEED A TEDDY BEAR OR A GIANT DOG TO KNOW THAT SOMEBODY LOVES YOU... I MUST AGREE WITH HALARRYIOUS7 ON HOW HE SAYS THAT SOMEONE CANNOT THINK THAT GIFTS MEAN ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY GET ANOTHER ONE EVERY YEAR... IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT SHOWING LOVE, NOT ABOUT COMPETITIONS TO SEE WHO CAN SPEND THE MOST MONEY... EVERYBODY HAVE AN AWESOME MONDAY... PLEASE VISIT HTTP://RSNOWDEN7.BLOGSPOT.COM
You shouldn't have to spend $125 on a person to show you care about them. I think you should buy them something little but not something that cost that much. Valentines day is about showing you care about them not how much money you spend on them.
Day is a day to send with your lover, nothing else. No expenses are needed to show affection and you should only be pressured to buy things for your significant other if you feel pressure by coorparate America.
i dont this this the money that counts, i think its the thought that counts. i this valentines day is a good day for u and your love one to go all out for each other the spend a beautiful time together.you dont have to go alll out for it but if they want to spend , hey why not lol.
I feel as if Valentine's Day is an important day because it shows your love one how much you appreciate them. that doesn't mean you go out an be so expensive really, just buy a little something that shows your love and appreciation for that special someone.
Valentines day seems to be a really fun and important day to people who are in a relationship with someone, but for people who are not it doesent seem to be that big of a deal. I dont think you should have to spend alot of money on Valentines day in order to have a good time.
Although I think that it is nice to show your significant other that they are special to you, that should be done through your words, actions, and feelings, not through money. It is crazy the extents that some people go, and amounts of money they spend. Also i think that it would be more meaningful if you went about this on a random day, not a cheesy greeting card holiday.
